LAHORE: Salee Jaffar-led National Women’s Selection Committee has named 20 probables for the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies Women to be held at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi from April 18 to May 3.
Three ODIs – part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 – and five T20Is will be played during the series. The first ball in the ODIs (April 18, 21 and 23) will be bowled at 3.30 pm, while the T20Is (April 26, 28, 30, May 2 and 3) will start at 7.30 pm.
The players include Ayesha Zafar (29 ODIs, 20 T20Is), Gul Feroza (2 ODIs), Rameen Shamim (3 ODIs, 4T20Is), Sidra Nawaz (67 ODIs, 56 T20Is) and Tuba Hassan (1 ODI, 21 T20Is). come back. Omaima Sohail and Shawaal Zulfiqar (recovering from a shoulder injury), who were part of the 17-man squad named for the recent bilateral series against the New Zealand women’s team, have been left out of the camp probables.
The selection committee will announce the 15-member squad for the ODI series during the camp in Karachi after consulting the captain and interim head coach. The remaining five players from the probables camp will be released to participate in the domestic women’s one-day tournament (to be announced in due course).

Chief Selector Saleem Jaffar: “The selection committee has shortlisted 20 likely players based on their performances in the domestic and international circuits. Ayesha Zafar, Gul Feroza, Rameen Shamim, Sidra Nawaz and Tuba Hassan have been added to the probables camp after their performances in the last domestic tournament as we aim to expand our pool of players.
“The upcoming series against West Indies, which includes ICC Women’s Championship matches, is of the utmost importance as we look to score maximum points to strengthen our claim to qualify directly for the ICC Women’s Under-50 World Cup.”
The 20-member squad will meet in Karachi on Monday, April 1 and will undergo a seven-day camp in Karachi at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center from April 2. The team members and team management will return to their hometown on April 9 for Eid and the team will reassemble in Karachi on April 13.
