RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a statement on Friday that during the three days of “firefights and sanitization/clearance operations” in Mach and Kolpur, Balochistan, at least 24 terrorists were killed by law enforcement.
The propaganda wing of the military identified Shehzad Baloch, Attaullah, Salah Uddin, Abdul Wadood, and Zeeshan as the principal terrorists who were slain following their attack on the Mach and Kolpur Complexes in Balochistan on the evening of January 29 and 30.
“The identification process of remaining terrorists is in process, the military’s media wing stated,” the statement continued.
Two citizens and at least four courageous members of law enforcement agencies accepted martyrdom during a fierce gunfight with terrorists. The fallen law enforcement officers valiantly battled the terrorists.
The ISPR added in its statement that “law enforcement agencies deputed on security offered stiff resistance and forced the attackers to repulse.”
The statement went on to say that when the area was cleared and secured, these terrorists were tracked down during the subsequent sanitization and clearance operations, which are now complete.
The ISPR stated that the fact that LEAs were able to respond effectively is evidence of their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.
“Pakistan’s Security Forces stand shoulder to shoulder with other Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure peace and stability in the country.”
Terrorists launched several attacks on the Mach and Kolpur Complexes in Balochistan earlier this week, sparking the start of the LEA operation.
Late on Monday, sources told Geo News that the security forces thwarted a terrorist “fire raid” attempt in Mach, Balochistan, by members of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
Terrorists launched multiple rockets from mountains on Monday night, followed by a barrage of gunfire, leaving Mach city deafening and pitch-black.
Explosions and gunfire also occurred in Kolpur town and the Gokhart Bibi Nani region, trapping people inside their homes.
According to security sources, unidentified persons fired 15 rockets from the mountains at 9:30pm in the Mach area of Kuchi Bolan.
