Islamabad: At the National Assembly of Pakistan, a session titled “Parliamentary Interface: Learning Experience of Provincial Assembly Secretariats” gets underway. The goal of the workshop, which was co-hosted by the National Assembly of Pakistan and Mustehkam_Parlimaan, was to foster productive discussion and debate on important topics influencing the legislative and parliamentary agendas of national parliaments.During the seminar, Special Secretary (Legislation) Mr. Muhammad Mushtaq gave participants a thorough rundown of the National Assembly’s operations, roles, and committee structure. He also went into great detail on the legislative process.

Senior officials from the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are actively participating in the vibrant knowledge exchange that is occurring at Parliament House.Mr. Muhammad Anwar, the Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), provided insightful advice on how to create a collaborative learning environment that will advance best practices in parliament. He clarified the procedural intricacies of the legislative and committee systems.
Officers from Pakistani Provincial Assemblies aggressively seek clarity on the discussed subjects during the Q&A portion of the event.A guided tour of the National Assembly of Pakistan was given to officers from Provincial Assemblies. The visit included the National Assembly Hall, the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), the Secretariat for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Library, the Media, and other departments.They received an overview of the functions and duties of the various Secretariat units throughout the tour.
In order to promote meaningful international contacts between stakeholders and governance professionals, Provincial Assemblies’ participants in the most recent Parliamentary Interface session suggested setting up programs, workshops, and seminars of a similar nature.The purpose of the event was to improve governance at the national and provincial levels through knowledge exchange, strategic talks, and interactive learning.
