KARACHI : According to President Dr. Arif Alvi, mosques may be extremely important for both teaching religious values and education to youngsters who are not enrolled in school, as well as for the socioeconomic advancement of the nation. The President told the gathering that there was a steep learning curve for the 26 million youngsters who are not in school because of the poor quality of the educational infrastructure. He went on to say that it would take a long time and a lot of resources to establish new schools. He claimed that using the nearly 2.5 lac mosques in the nation might offer a special and affordable way to get these kids back in the classroom. According to the President, mosques might serve as educational institutions by implementing the government’s Accelerated Learning Program. He went on to say that mosques ought to be the hub of Pakistani society, offering both religious and secular education to combat social issues.
Enhancing the function of “Pesh Imam” to oversee educational activities in mosques will allow Mosques to be exploited to their full potential, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony informed the gathering.
Meeting attendees praised the president’s goal and emphasized that strengthening Pesh Imams’ capacity was necessary to make the plan a reality.
