The PTI, founded by Imran Khan, expressed its disapproval of the results of the February 8 general elections, stating that the electoral process was marred by rigging. According to PTI spokesperson Raoof Hassan, the scale of rigging in these elections will be remembered in the country’s history. During a press conference in Islamabad, many independent candidates backed by PTI claimed to have evidence of their victory through Form 45s. Despite the PTI-affiliated candidates dominating the election results, no political party obtained a simple majority. The PTI alleges that the polls were not free and fair and plans to organize peaceful protests nationwide against the alleged rigging. Hassan highlighted discrepancies between the results recorded in Form 45 and Form 47, with a significant gap in votes for national and provincial assembly seats. Salman Akram Raja, a candidate from NA-128, criticized the electoral authorities, claiming that rigging occurred from polling stations to the RO office. He also mentioned that PTI candidates faced restrictions on campaigning and that the party’s electoral symbol, the ‘bat,’ was taken away, causing inconvenience to their voters.
