ISLAMABAD: An inter-university singing competition being held here at Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-11/3 to celebrate Pakistani music and culture brings together 12 colleges of the city.
It was an honor to have Rizwan ul Haq of Vital Signs as the distinguished chief guest for the event, said a press release.
A panel of judges comprising Shahroz Khan, Sameen Khawaja, Waqas Niazi and Umar Bari brought expertise and fairness to the competition and provided a platform to showcase talent.
Principal Farah Hamid encouraged and appreciated the students’ dedication and passion for music. “Together we have created an unforgettable evening that promotes love for our rich musical heritage and inspires the next generation of artists.”
The competition consisted of two categories. The first was the old gold hits of 1960s of Pakistan in which one participant from each college showcased talent, while the second stage was the famous Qawalis in which a group of students tuned their talent and the audience was enthralled by their melodious performances.
In FG Home economy singing, college F-11/1 bagged first position while IMCG I-10/4 bagged 2nd position. The host college and IMCG Korang Town took third place.
In Qawali Competition Korang Town, FG home economics school F-11/1 and IMCG F-7/2 won 1st 2nd and 3rd place simultaneously.
