Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s envoy to the UAE, warmly welcomed the participants gathered to commemorate International Women’s Day at a grand event held at the embassy premises. “This day is a reminder of our joint efforts to achieve gender parity and equality in all areas of life. Current statistics on gender parity highlight the need for more concrete efforts and measures to achieve our goal of empowering women,” the ambassador emphasized.
Mr. Tirmizi said that in line with this year’s Women’s Day theme, we must invest in women to accelerate progress; especially with a focus on solving the weakening of the economic status of women. He emphasized the importance of ensuring inclusiveness by involving women in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
The most special feature of the event was an in-depth interactive panel discussion with inspirational Pakistani women with recognized achievements and achievements in various walks of life. These Pakistani women included Zulfia Nazir, footballer/fitness influencer, Kiran Malik actor/model/entrepreneur, Mehr F. Husain author/journalist/publisher and Shazia Ali Khan filmmaker/professor. The panel discussion was moderated by Saba Karim Khan.
Proud Pakistani female stars shared their compelling stories and journeys of relentless struggle, dedication, self-confidence and dedication to the passion of what they wanted to achieve in life. The thrilling life story of each individual reaching the zenith of success in their professional careers and endeavors was undeniably impressive.
The Ambassador gave special thanks to the panelists for engaging in the session and making it truly meaningful. “It was a pleasure to listen to a bunch of confident, successful and impressive Pakistani women who are role models for young women and girls to be inspired by. I am also grateful to the Emiratis and women of other nationalities for gracing today’s event. We also appreciate the participation of gentlemen and family members of various nationalities,” the ambassador said.
The Ambassador also appreciated Ms. Amber, Ms. Sabah, Ms. Kiran Kazmi and Haniya Faisal for their efforts and assistance in making the event happen. During the event, a documentary video highlighting the role of Pakistani women in various spheres of life, prepared by Ms. Haniya with the assistance of Faisal Hussain, was screened. A special documentary featuring dynamic Pakistani women from various fields created by the Pakistan Parliamentary Committee on Women was also screened during the event.
