ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadiq Malik said on Thursday that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has drawn up a strategy to develop urban and rural centers across the country.
He said that when it comes to development in rural centres, farmers need water, seeds and fertilizers and hence the Prime Minister has decided to ensure that he will provide fertilizer to farmers at subsidized rates.
Second, the government will provide farmers with imported seeds to increase production. To solve the water problem, the government provides solar tube wells for farmers meeting the requirements for cultivation, . He said that if all these three components are provided to the farmers, its growth will increase to a great extent.
He said the government would also encourage farmers to set up small agricultural industrial farms, which would be the beginning of a green revolution in the country.
For urban centres, the Prime Minister ordered that banks must be asked to provide small loans to youth and small medium enterprises (SMEs) for their businesses.
He said the government has decided to organize ‘Boot Camps’ to train fresh students coming out of universities to compete internationally in the field of artificial intelligence.
If necessary, the government will invite masters from abroad to train the children, Malik said, adding that the prime minister has made a strict request to create a sustainable program.
He said the government has decided to open schools modeled after the Danish school to provide free education to intelligent students from the poor section of the society.
The government will send these bright students to the world’s top universities for education at the government’s expense.
Answering a question, he said circular debt was 2310 billion rupees and there is no increase in debt as now and it will remain the same till the end of the year.
He said the government was working to reduce the cost of power generation to ensure cheap electricity, but an anti-power theft operation would be launched to provide relief to the people. He said that the government will ensure availability of gas during Sehar & Aftar period in the month of Ramazan.
