Peshawar: Jumatul Widah (last Friday of Ramadan) prayers were announced across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid tight security, like in other parts of the country.
They witnessed huge gatherings in all the big and small mosques in the city. Devotees pray specifically for the welfare, development and sovereignty of the country.
Improper safety measures have been taken by the police to deal with the accident.
Jumatul Widah (the last Friday of Ramadan) is celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in Sargodha.
Strict security measures have been implemented for this. More than 1,500 police officers are on duty in 277 Masajids and Imam Bargahs across the district.
Police patrols have been increased around the Mosque and Imam Bargah. All Divisional Police Officers (SDPO) and Station House Officers (SHOs) monitor the crowds of Friday prayers in their respective areas.
Elite Force, Dolphin Force and Muhafiz Squad teams patrolled the district during Friday prayers. Police Chief Muhammad Faisal Kamran said that all resources are being used for the peaceful activities of Jumatul Wida and added that security, law and order will not be ignored. Juma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, is celebrated with traditional religious fervor and reverence in northern Sindh.
This day is also marked as um-al-Quds to express support and solidarity to the oppressed Palestinian Muslims.
