Islamabad: A book titled “Physics and Cosmology” written by former CSP officer Sardar Irshad Shaheen has been released by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI). The book deals with the spiritual creation of the universe through science and philosophy and was published in the United States.
CSP Sardar Shaheen has been working in Internal Revenue Service, FBR and has been appointed Federal Tax Advisor Mohtasib. He admitted that he wanted to write about nature, the universe and life since his school days.
The book launch was attended by prominent people in the federal capital and senior MP Farhatullah Babar and Dr Shoaib Suddle.
This book is a well-researched work containing more than 800 references and provides a comprehensive account of the origin of the universe, concepts in science, and the paths and beliefs of various religions. But the author wrote this not only in terms of religion, but also about the creation and design of the universe and what science says about the concept of God’s unity.
Therefore, the book frequently quotes the Qur’an not as a religious-motivational aspect, but as a thought process. This refers to Sufism and the teachings of holy men and represents rationalism in relation to science and practical theory. He covers himself spiritually, never referring to religion as a word or concept.
The tendency of Sufism in the West evaluates it in terms of Quantum Theory and says that there is a similarity between the East and the West based on scientific theory.
He just quoted Imam Husain bin Ali’s sermon in Miratul Arifeen, which went on to define the origin of the universe and the existence of the Almighty.
He also said to Muhammad alaihissalam (peace be upon him) who spoke about the existence of God in Hadith-e-Qudsi, “He has existed from the past and He made Himself known because He wanted to know His form…”
The book explores the relationship between modern physics and mystical cosmology. It reveals the profound insights into existence and the universe of such famous figures as the German philosopher Hegel and the Muslim mystic philosopher Ibn al-Arabi.
The opening chapter describes a chronological journey through major scientific theories such as the Big Bang theory, the expansion of the universe, and the formation of galaxies, while also looking at Sufi creations and the relationship between humans and the cosmos. This text aims to bridge the gap between science, philosophy, and spirituality and offers a thoughtful exploration of the fundamental questions surrounding humanity and the universe.
Through the synthesis of various disciplines and perspectives, the book provides a foundation for a deeper exploration of the deeper connection between science and spirituality.
