On Saturday, Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kiani added another feather to her cap when she became the first Pakistani woman to climb 11 peaks above 8,000 meters.
Kiani made the move after successfully scaling the world’s fifth highest peak, Makalu at 8,485 meters in Nepal – becoming the first Pakistani woman to do so.
According to the details, the climber reached the summit around 8:50 a.m. (PST).
In his speech, the mountaineer thanked his fellow countrymen for their prayers and well wishes and thanked Sherpa Gelgen Da from Imagine Nepal for supporting him every step of the way and ensuring his success.
Her previous achievements include becoming the first Pakistani woman to scale all of Pakistan’s 8,000-metre peaks.
She is also the only Pakistani woman to reach 10 eight thousand.
However, Kiani’s mountaineering skills are not limited to being an aerialist and mother of two.
His contributions to the mountains and commitment to social causes have been recognized by the Government of Pakistan, where he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz – the country’s third highest civilian honour.
