BAHAWALPUR: Camel milk is a food with medicinal properties and should be protected from vaccines and new antimicrobial bacteria, according to national and international experts.
Workshop / Webinar on “Improvement of Camel Hand Health and Control of Mastitis by Roman Antimicrobial Combination” Project no. NRPU-HEC-20-16147 on 13-5-2024 under the supervision of the Principal Project Investigator at CUVAS. Dr. Amjad Islam Aqib, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, CUVAS. Webinar invites speakers from Animal Health (Dr. Javaria Alam), Dr. Razak Kakar (Camel Health, Production and Welfare Expert); Director of Quality Surgery Laboratory (Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmad Anjum); Expert from the Camel King of Cholistan (Dr. Ali Raza Abbasi); and Deputy Technical Director (Dr. Mahboob Ali) from Balochistan Livestock and Dairying Board. This program consists of 02 hours of lectures and discussions and student competitions. The active participation of students in the diagram making competition, poster competition, camel model making competition, calligraphy and camel milk tasting competition makes this event useful for learning and sharing camel milk and its health. More than 200 participants attended the event today, who immediately benefited from the event. There is a consensus that mastitis caused by multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus should be managed by vaccination along with new antimicrobials. Prizes and certificates were awarded to students who won various positions.
