ISLAMABAD: Domestic sales of motorcycles and three-wheelers declined by 6.49 percent in the first ten months of this fiscal year (2023-24) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
According to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), 941,406 motorcycles and three-wheelers were sold during July-April (2022-23).
Honda motorcycle sales fell 2.78 percent from 843,219 units to 819,752 units, while Suzuki motorcycle sales fell 51.55 percent from 28,091 units to 13,610 units in the months under review.
Similarly, sales of Yamaha motorcycles decreased from 11,161 units to 5,824 units, while sales of Road Prince motorcycles decreased by 45.28 percent from 24,694 units to 13,511 units.
United Auto’s motorcycle sales fell 15.33 percent from 82,069 units to 69,480 units.
Meanwhile, United Auto three-wheeler sales rose 57.09 percent from 1,240 units to 1,948 units, while Sazgar three-wheeler sales increased 35.88 percent from 8,267 units to 11,234 units.
Data revealed that Qingqi three-wheeler sales fell 19.87 percent from 5,916 units to 4,740 units, while Road Prince three-wheeler sales fell 26.87 percent from 1,503 units to 1,099 units.
