SWAT: The 116th birthday anniversary celebration of Mian Gul Abdul Haq Jahanzeb, the last ruler of Swat, was held at Wadoodia Hall in Saidu Sharif of Swat district.
During the ceremony, Wali Swat awards and cash prizes were distributed to top schools in recognition of outstanding performance in the field of education. Mian Gul Amirzeb Shehryar, ADC Swat Hameed Khan Buneri, Zibu Nisa Jilani, along with officers and students from various educational institutions, participated in the event.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Hameed Khan Buneri addressed the gathering, stating that the Swat Award from SRI is a commendable initiative, as such activities encourage the community. SRI Chairperson Zebu Nisa Jilani highlighted Wali Swat’s contributions to education, noting that he established educational institutions and built a model state. She emphasized the significant advancements made in education and health during the state period, mentioning that the Governor of Swat expressed his affection for the people by constructing educational institutions even on mountaintops. She assured that the mission of Swat would continue through SRI, pledging ongoing support for the community. Additionally, there was a demonstration of the Pashto Atanr dance.
