The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that the registration of camera drones is now mandatory as part of a comprehensive policy to regulate the use of drones across the country.
The new regulation requires all drone owners to register their devices with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) within the next four months.
CAA will issue remote pilot licenses to drone camera owners, ensuring operators are adequately trained and certified.
Drones are divided into four different classes based on their weight, with specific regulatory requirements for each category.
Licenses to import and export drones will be valid for up to three years.
The Defense Ministry said drones are prohibited from flying in restricted areas, including border zones and areas that require special clearance.
Civil aviation authorities must be notified immediately in the event of an accident involving a drone.
Civil aviation regulators will regularly inspect drones to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Strict action will be taken against drone owners who violate these rules.
Flying drones without proper clearance is currently prohibited and the operation of drones within a 6km radius of the airport is prohibited.
