Senator Mushahid Hussain praises China for leading ‘alternative global order’

Beijing: Senator Mushahid Hussain praised China for creating an “alternative new global order” based on equality and justice.
He was speaking at an international conference organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
More than 200 political leaders, scientists, intellectuals, economists and journalists from more than 50 countries participated in the event.
Chairman of China-Pakistan Institute and Co-Chairman of International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Senator Mushahid thanked President Xi Jinping for giving the prestigious 5 Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Award.
“China has taken political ownership of the 5 Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, which is the basis of the emerging global order today,” said the observer.
He described President Xi Jinping’s speech at the speech as “very important and of historic importance.”
Observers say the Beijing Conference has threefold significance for modern international politics.
First, he explained China’s initiative on the 5 Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and President Xi Jinping’s concept of “A Community for a Shared Future for Humanity” as a form of Asian wisdom.
Second, he said, is the non-Western vision of a new global order that rejects hegemony, militarism, or dictatorship of any power.
Third, he said the Global South, which consists of Asian, African and Latin American countries, now represents the majority of the world and supports China’s initiatives.
The observer gave examples of China’s contribution to Asian wisdom, such as the philosophy of ‘Seeking the Truth from the Truth’ and ‘Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’.
“China is the only country in history that has developed peacefully without conquest, colonization, invasion, occupation or aggression,” he said.
He called on the West to abandon notions of a New Cold War or containment of China, and concluded his speech with a quote from the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius: “Do unto others as you would not have them do unto you.”
Before that, Senator Mushahid chaired a group of 30 famous ‘Friends of China’ organized by the Association of Friendship between China and Foreign Countries.
Speaking at a special banquet, he highlighted his 50-year relationship with China, which began in the early 1970s with his first visit as a 17-year-old student leading a youth friendship group.
