RAWALPINDI: The administration will impose a complete ban on plastic bags from June 5 on the directives of the Punjab government.
According to Aamir Khatak, Rawalpindi Divisional Engineer Commissioner, Commissioner’s Spokesperson, all efforts should be made to provide relief to the citizens through price control, crackdown and other measures.
“The administration’s first priority is to promote economic activity by creating a favorable environment for business groups.”
The commissioner also directed the assistant commissioner to visit all the markets and inform the public about the ban on the use of plastic bags.
Every possible effort will be made to spread awareness about the ban.
“Price magister is active in this area to check the availability of important commodities with fixed prices,” he said.
Bread prices have been fixed at $15 across the division to reflect the fall in wheat prices.
“Approximately 168 Price Magistrates are working in the department to verify and enforce Bread income,” he said.
