BERLIN: A protest by climate activists at Cologne-Bonn airport in Germany caused air traffic disruptions on Wednesday, according to local officials.
Germany’s Cologne police reported that five activists protested in the area near the runway and air traffic was suspended as a result.
The Letzte Generation (Last Generation) group on X said the protest called for the elimination of fossil fuels by 2030 and that it was part of an international protest campaign. They added that similar protests will be held simultaneously at airports in the UK, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, the US, Scotland and Norway.
