Islamabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Both discussed the general situation of AJK apart from issues related to the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the President said that AJK has a huge potential for tourism and beautiful landscape which should be fully developed to attract tourists. He added, strengthening the tourism sector of AJK will help in the social economic development and economic activities in the region. He said, Pakistan will provide all support and assistance to facilitate investment in various economic sectors of AJK, especially in the tourism sector.
The president said, apart from being able to contribute to the development of AJK, the youth of AJK must be equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to generate income. He said that Pakistan can help the AJK government tap into the carbon credit market.
At the meeting, the President said that he would support the Prime Minister’s AJK and his government. The Prime Minister asked the president to visit the AJK and said to the DPR AJK.
The President also expressed grief over the loss of precious lives in rain-related incidents in various parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that the AJK government would help the affected families.
The President also reiterated his willingness to continue moral, political and diplomatic support to the ICJ community until Pakistan’s right to self-determination is achieved. Condemning human rights abuses and atrocities committed by Indian occupation forces at the ICC, he urged the international community to put pressure on India to stop human rights abuses by security forces and implement UN Security Council resolutions.
