LAHORE: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan vowed on Sunday that his party will cut the price of petrol for motorcyclists if voted into power.
Addressing the event organised by the IPP in Lahore, Aleem Khan said: “Firstly, I had imposed the party’s manifesto on myself. I have never left direct contact with the people.”.
“The new programmes are being started in connection with the Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation. It does not matter whether a voter exists or not; we never linked ourselves with the voter lists. We will continue to help the needy,” Aleem Khan stated.
He highlighted the exorbitant electricity bills, saying, “Today the biggest of all the problems faced by the people is the inflated power bills.”.
“If the masses show interest in our party in the elections, we will provide free electricity up to 300 units. We will provide ownership rights in slum areas,” the IPP president said.
Senior politician Humayun Akhtar Khan joined the IPP on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference flanked by IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen and IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, Humayun said: “I have spent a long time with the IPP friends. The higher power has once again united us.”
He recalled the events that transpired on May 9, saying, “I have parted ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the May 9 vandalism. The military installations were attacked on May 9.
