KHYBER: Offices of District Police Officer (DPO), Khyber and Superintendent Police (SP) investigation were forcibly locked down against lack of provision of privileges here in Shahkas, Jamrud on Tuesday.
It is to be stated here that under the banner of All FATA ex-Khasadar and Levies Force Committee, a protest camp has been organized at Bab-e-Khyber that has been attended by scores of former Khasadar and Levies personnel demanding incentives and regular service structure for approximately 35000 ex-Khasadar and Levies.
Former Khasadar and presently the senior officials of police force visited the concerned offices and locked it down.
Jahangir Afridi, Deputy Superintendent traffic police and a leader of the committee said that until acceptance of their 22 points demands, they will not allow any to operate the prevailed system.
They went on that offices of the district police highups will also be suspended across the merged districts.
Khasadar and Levies had rendered matchless sacrifices for the sack of the country, although it was ignored, he added.
When DPO Khyber was contacted on the matter he said that he could not resolve the issue as it was not his mandate.
Those who had promised the ex-Khasadar and Levies forces at the time of merging should address it, he added.
