ISLAMABAD: All housing projects for registered industrial workers would be completed across the country within the timeframe specified, with all necessary amenities included.
An official source told that a big project of 2056 residential units in Peshawar for industrial workers was finished and handed over to them last year.
According to sources, the price of each flat was Rs 2.6 million, with the government providing a Rs 300,000 subsidy and the beneficiaries paying the balance in simple payments. A 3% quota has been set aside for widows and 2% for those with disabilities.
Those who have worked in industry for three years are eligible for flat ownership through a transparent lucky draw. It is the KP Government’s major housing project, developed in accordance with the federal government’s objective of providing cheap and low-cost housing for citizens.
The Labor Complex, which includes these residential flats, is outfitted with all necessary amenities, including drinking water, roads, mosques, schools, parks, grounds, electricity, and gas. Four enormous tube wells and overhead tanks have been built to ensure that the residents have access to fresh water at all times.
The project features the capacity of a school with 30 classrooms, created to give quality education to the children of industrial workers and other segments of society at their doorsteps.
The Labor Complex’s Phase I project began in 2011 and Phase II in 2013. However, the project was delayed due to a lack of finance as a result of previous regimes’ ineffective approaches at the facility. The Workers Welfare Board (WWB) planned to construct similar residential flats in Hattar, Mardan, Nowshera, and Peshawar.
The KP Government has accelerated development on the Jalozai Housing Project, which spans over 10,000 kanals and includes 1,320 residential flats and low-cost housing units for the poor and laborers.
Similarly, the Provincial Housing Authority, Government of KP, issued allotment letters for Hangu Housing Township, which covers an area of around 8300 kanals, to citizens, persons with disabilities, widows, and government employees as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Project.
These megaprojects would assist thousands of disadvantaged individuals become home owners and spare their hard-earned money from being spent on rent.
