All Pakistan Railways Pensioners Association demanded that bailout package should be given to Pakistan Railways for payment of gratuity/commutation, benevolent funds, marriage grant, farewell grant to retired pensioners, widows and orphans.
An emergency meeting of All Pakistan Railways Penalties Association was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Muhammad Aslam Adil Butt in which all Union Cabinet officials participated through video link. Secretary General Aurangzeb Tanoli said that the attention of the government was drawn to these important issues. Already, letters have been written many times before that the payment of gratuity/commutation other than pension to the retired pensioners from Railways is stalled like all other dues after April/May 2021. Railway Deptt. Apart from this, the pension of all other federal departments is being paid directly from the AGPR office. Therefore, the pension should be paid directly to the railway pensioners from the AGPR office. The association strongly demands the government to solve our problems. If we are not heard, we will be forced to go on hunger strike and protest. If anything happens to the retired pensioners during the hunger strike or protests, then all the responsibility will be on the government. On behalf of the association, Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb. The Federal Minister of Finance, Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly and Chairman Ministry of Railways are strongly requested to issue orders to give bailout package to Railway Department on emergency basis to solve all these problems in view of the above facts. should be done so that the restlessness found among the retired employees can be resolved.
