Central leaders of the Pakistan Chamber of Education, Hafiz Muhammad Basharat, Chaudhry Imran, Raja Khalid Hamid Awan, praised the provincial education minister, Rana Sikander Hayat, for providing relief to the private education sector. They acknowledged that the private education sector bears 65% of the burden and provides employment to millions of people. However, for a long time, retaliatory actions against this sector have been causing disillusionment and discouragement at every level. Unjustified taxation had been targeting the private education sector.
The leaders welcomed the provincial education minister, Rana Sikander Hayat’s decision to allow central leaders of the Pakistan Chamber of Education, Muhammad Asif, Chaudhry Tayyab Naseer Janjua, Saeed-ul-Hassan, Mehr Ashiq, Tahir Javed, and other organization heads to organize summer camps for 9th and 10th grades from June 1 to July 15 and to open schools for three hours in the morning until June 6 for examinations. They noted that while a student in public schools costs 8,000 rupees from government funds, private institutions provide better facilities and education for 2,000 to 4,000 rupees, with results that are evident to the public.
They further noted that it is becoming clear that the current provincial government is keenly interested in improving the education sector and that encouraging results will emerge from the public-private sector collaboration. They stated that with 25 million youths currently out of educational institutions, targeting them specially and encouraging private education sectors is commendable and will yield better results.
