With the release of its first test edition of new Android software, Google is giving consumers a major upgrade by stopping their phone from beeping with notifications all the time.
The update, which will be made available later this year, comes after the tech company’s earlier surprise delivery of an update that allowed users to alter messages.
Tech aficionados have found a new function called “Notification cooldown” in the Android 15 beta. This feature is perfect for people who have received a lot of notifications from the same source, such a lot of business emails or several WhatsApp messages.
The tool “gradually lowers the notification volume when you get many successive notifications from the same app,” according to the feature description, which reduces the amount of notifications that ping your phone at once.
Three choices are available: turn it off, apply it to all notifications, and apply it to discussions.
The impending feature was made public on the Android Authority website, which called it a “game changer”.
