LAS VEGAS: Pakistani Tekken star Arslan Ash clinched the Tekken 8 EVO 2024 title for the fifth time, defeating compatriot Atif Butt in the grand finals in Las Vegas, USA.
Arslan triumphed 3-1 in the winners’ final. Subsequently, Atif faced Japanese competitor Nobi in the loser’s final and beat him 3-0 to secure a place in the grand final.
Atif took the first game in a tight final but Arslan leveled the scores. When Atif switched to FENG to tie the game at 2-2, it looked like the game would be over.
Just when it looked like Atif would win the final round, Arslan won his fifth EVO Championship title with a flawless strike.
“I did it again, Alhamdulillah, fifth EVO title in the bag, but definitely not my last,” Arslan wrote on Twitter.
“This win is for Pakistan and all the boundary pushers out there! Onward and upward! And to my critics, I’ve still got it baby! And I’m not done yet,” he added.
Meanwhile, Atif was not happy with his performance but promised to come back.
“First of all, I would like to thank all my supporters. As a professional player, I always wanted to win EVO. It is every player’s dream title. I tried my hardest to win it, but I failed and won (2nd position).
“I am not really satisfied with my performance. Still, I am thankful to Allah for giving me a lot of blessings. I will work tirelessly to represent Pakistan at the highest level. In Sha Allah,” he added.
Remember that last month Arslan won Only The Best Tekken 8, a TWT Challenger held in Turin, Italy. Beat KDF Mulgold in the grand final 3-2.
