ISLAMABAD:- Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Monday that the enemy will not be able to absorb development in Pakistan as it will thwart the efforts of political rivals and outside forces.
He also said that some forces want to disrupt Pakistan-China relations and are working on radical plans to create a situation where there is no peace in the country.
The minister said that by removing the threat of terrorism permanently, he would provide full security to Chinese nationals living and working in Pakistan.
Referring to his recent visit to China as a member of the delegation under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he said an agreement had been reached to modernize the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
However, Tarar said that political stability is a necessary condition for economic stability as he criticized those who aim to create uncertainty in Pakistan.
Quoting PTI founder chairman Imran Khan, Tarar said in a press conference that no political leader is bigger than Pakistan as he questioned the “pure details” given in the case.
He said that Pakistan was mocked all over the world by its so-called leaders, but the situation is changing because Pakistan is a historical point of growth and prosperity.
“All the prisons in Pakistan should be freed if the £190 million mega corruption case is cleared,” he said.
He also defended Punjab’s defamation law, which came into force on Monday, saying the law was universal.
Tarar asked why local TV stations and others can seek pardon in the courts of other countries, why this cannot be done in Pakistan.
Asked about rumors and reports of restricting social media access, the minister said he saw the Great Wall of China but not a “reservoir wall”.
