SYDNEY: Australia’s eight-wicket victory against Pakistan in Sydney has propelled them to the top of the World Test Championship 2023–25 points standings. After eight tests, their current point total is 56.25%. Pakistan presently sits sixth with 36.66% points after losing the series 3-0.After defeating South Africa by seven wickets in Cape Town, India was victorious, but their victory was short-lived. Now, with 54.16% of the points from four tests, they are in second place. Meanwhile, South Africa has dropped to share third place with Bangladesh and New Zealand. After their two games, each of the three teams has 50% of the possible points.The Boxing Day and New Year’s Test featured four teams: Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, and India. With Dean Elgar leading the way in his final series, South Africa emerged victorious in Centurion, crushing India by an innings and 32 runs in just three days. But India made a powerful return, destroying South Africa in Cape Town in the end in the shortest Test ever played.The two Test matches between Australia and Pakistan in Melbourne and Sydney had some additional ups and downs, but the hosts were able to maintain composure.
