Babar now sits on 3,955 runs, the third highest run-scorer in T20I cricket behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Babar needs 82 more runs to overtake Virat Kohli’s total in T20Is.
Finally, with 48 runs to go, Babar will become the only captain to reach 2,500 T20I runs. Achieving this feat will distinguish him not only as a top player, but also as a leader who consistently contributes to his team’s success.
Notably, in the T20I series against Ireland, Babar set a world record by becoming the most successful T20I captain with 45 wins, beating Uganda’s Brian Masaba’s record of 44 wins as a captain.
