UPPER DIR : The Badgoi Top road, a tourist spot and a shortest road between Upper Dir and Swat, after clearing snow has been reopened for traffic and tourists after five months of closure due to snow. The road, which is located at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level, remains closed for five to six months every year due to heavy snowfall.
Gul Akbar Kohistani, a social activist and resident of Kumarat, told to this correspondent the road was closed due to severe snowfall, but with the onset of summer, the snow has been cleared, and the road has been reopened few days back .
He added that tourists from different parts of the country, including Punjab, Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar, visit the area, and the reopening of the road has made it easier for them to travel between Swat and Upper Dir. The road was cleared by the Works and Services Department on the instructions of MPA Gul Ibrahim, and the contractor completed the work in three days. The reopening of the road has been welcomed by locals and tourists alike, and the scenic spot is once again bustling with activity.
