Islamabad:- His Excellency Charles Delogne, Ambassador of Belgium to Pakistan, visited the National Headquarters of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (HHR) on Thursday. Upon arrival, HHR representatives greeted him.
In their meeting with HHR Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belgium, focusing on humanitarian cooperation and exploring joint initiatives to support vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
Chief Sardar Shaheed Ahmed Laghari highlighted HHR’s humanitarian services across the country, especially the assistance provided to millions affected by the 2022 monsoon floods. He described the various facilities and support mechanisms implemented by HHR, including shelter, nutritional support, CUCI (Water , Sanitation and Cleanliness), cash assistance and others to rehabilitate families affected by floods.
Ambassador Charles Delogne said he was pleased to visit HHR, expressed his good wishes and praised the organization’s efforts under Lagari’s leadership. He praised HHR’s initiatives in natural disasters and crises and reaffirmed Belgium’s commitment to supporting humanitarian causes.
President Laghari appreciated Ambassador Delogne’s contribution during his tenure in Pakistan and thanked him for his role in strengthening Pakistan-Belgium relations and promoting cooperation in the global arena.
After the meeting, Ambassador Delogne praised HHR’s humanitarian services and efforts to promote diplomatic relations. He emphasized the universal importance of humanitarian work and praised HHR’s historically significant contribution.
Ambassador Delogne visited the HHR library and wrote his speech in the guest book. As a token of gratitude, Chief Laghari gave him the book Dastan-e-Azam.
