Islamabad: US Ambassador Donald Blome on Monday met Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb and discussed important aspects of US-Pakistan trade, investment and economic relations.
According to US Chargé d’Affaires Thomas Montgomery, Blome demonstrated US support for Pakistan’s economic reform agenda.
Noting the willingness of the United States to work with Pakistan on technical and development initiatives, he said the United States remains Pakistan’s largest export market, a key source of quality investment, and a strong partner for Pakistan’s economic future.
Earlier this month, Blome completed a series of meetings with political and business leaders in Punjab aimed at promoting cooperation in the information technology (IT), health and education sectors.
During his three-day visit to the provincial capital from May 1 to 3, Ambassador Blome met Punjab Assembly Speaker (Punjab Acting Governor) Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar and Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz. .
US Consul General in Lahore Christine Hawkins accompanied him in this meeting.
Ambassador Blome explored ways to enhance US-Pakistan cooperation in Punjab, focusing on areas of mutual interest such as IT, health, and culture.
He emphasized the importance of initiatives within the framework of the US-Pakistan Green Alliance and highlighted the positive impact of ongoing cooperation.
