Islamabad : Today in Islamabad, a group from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jomaih Group paid Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar a visit and informed him of new renewable energy investment projects that have the potential to generate 1500 megawatts of electricity.
Sheikh Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Jumaih, the head of the Al-Jomaih Group, headed the four-person delegation.
The Karachi-Electric has had significant investment from the Al-Jomaih Group. Under the new projects, electricity will be produced using renewable and local energy sources.
The prime minister welcomed the Saudi investment and noted that Riyadh and Islamabad have long-standing brotherly connections that are only growing stronger over time.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed confidence that Karachi Electric will continue to upgrade its infrastructure in order to provide a steady supply of electricity to residential and commercial customers.
According to him, K-Electric’s investment plan in the alternative energy sector will assist in lowering customer power tariffs.
