ISLAMABAD: Aneeq Ahmed, Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, said on Tuesday that the state of Gujarat’s inauguration of a temple on the ruins of the Babri Masjid has once again undermined India’s claim to be the world’s largest democracy.
In a statement, he claimed that religious polarization is an Indian official policy that undermines regional peace and stability.
“Words fall short to condemn the democratic backsliding in India,” said Mr. Singh. “While Muslims all over the region are hurt, we should also accept the historic fact that Jinnah was right, and Nehru was wrong” .
He referred to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “Netanyahu of our region” and claimed that Hindutva is a form of new Naziism.
