Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said on Monday that steps are being taken to ease the immigration process of people to increase checks at Lahore airport.
In a press conference held at the regional office of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), he said that he has also spoken to Federal Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif in this regard and said that the e-gate will be opened to enable the process of passport scanning without immigration. officer
On the electricity payment issue, Mohsin Naqvi said that he has spoken to Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the issue and said that no pressure will be tolerated on this issue and he will fully support FIA to resolve the issue.
“We have evidence that 830 million units have been paid in LESCO and Lahore FIA has done a good job in this regard,” he said. He said that the payments were made to government offices, industries and even ordinary people with only 300 units.
He said that XEN has been caught using 300 units and abuses its users and said it is very unfortunate.
The federal minister said the campaign against tolling will continue until the practice ends and anti-tolling measures are implemented across the country.
He said that if the cyber side agreed, there would be major reforms in the cyber side of the FIA.
He said that the recruitment process for the vacant posts in the FIA would be completed.
He said efforts against electricity theft are being carried out on a large scale, but more work needs to be done in this area.
The Home Minister said that efforts will be made to tackle electricity theft in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the support of the Ministry of Power.
Regarding human trafficking, Mohsin Naqvi said that much has been done to prevent it, but more efforts are needed in this area.
To a question, he said there would be no political pressure on the FIA.
Regarding Amir Tamba’s question, he said that research is being done in this area.
He said that there will be no concessions on the settlement issue and action will be taken without any discrimination.
He said that Karachi Police and Sindh Police are working aggressively against street crime in Karachi.
He said there should be laws that can help curb social media abuse.
Mohsin Naqvi had earlier taken over the investigation block of Shaheed Shahzad’s estate opened by Sub Inspector Faiza Shahzad, Shaheed Shahzad’s widow.
