Lahore: During the general elections, Lahore Police holds primary responsibility for providing fool-proof security. In view of overcoming any potential security lapse, the officers should produce kalandra for individuals with perceived hostilities in sensitive areas and ensure their restrained behaviour. Capital City Police Officer Lahore, Bilal Sadiq Kamyana, issued a statement here today, emphasizing immediate action in case of any illegal activities during the electoral campaign and polling day. He urged keeping a vigilant eye on polling stations in sensitive areas. Kamyana instructed the officers to maintain continuous police alerts on polling day to prevent disruptions. He emphasized ensuring public safety during electoral activities and polling day and highlighted strict actions in response to firing and weapon display. Strict measures will be taken against those responsible in case of negligence, he warned.

CCPO Lahore also issued directives for special security measures around sensitive polling stations, including the installation of barriers, barbed wire, and thorny wires. He stated that no negligence would be tolerated during election duty, and officers should remain on alert until the announcement of results. He further emphasized optimal coordination among all units of Lahore Police to ensure secure and peaceful conduct of the 2024 elections.
