ISLAMABAD: Cement exports have registered an increase of 40.36 percent in the fiscal year 2023-24 over the same period last year.
Cement exports from the country were recorded at $266.516 million during July-June (2023-24) as against exports of $189.876 million during July-June (2022-23), according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In terms of volume, cement exports also increased by 66.85 percent from 4,247,470 metric tons to 7,087,401 metric tons, according to the data.
There was also a year-on-year increase in cement exports by 39.58 percent during the month of June 2024 compared to the same month last year.
The country’s cement exports during June 2024 were recorded at $29.719 million as against exports of $21.292 million in June 2023. However, month-on-month, cement exports during June 2024 decreased by 7.85 percent. for exports of US$32.251 million in May 2024, PBS data revealed.
