ISLAMABAD: Lamenting the martyrdom of policemen in the Lakki Marwat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Sunday said that the federal and provincial governments should work together to rid the region of terror in the country.
“It is our national duty to eliminate terrorists and destroy kindergartens. Former foreign minister Lakki Marwat mourned the martyrdom of DSP Gul Mohammad Khan and his two bodyguards Naseem Gul and Salamat Khan in the attack.
Those who sacrificed their lives to eliminate terrorists are our national heroes,” he said.
Apart from the attack on the police, the PPP chief’s call for unity against terrorism followed the attack on a Chinese convoy at Besham in K-P’s Shangla district.
Six people, including five Chinese engineers, were killed in a deadly attack in Besham on March 26.
An explosive vehicle parked on the roadside exploded as a convoy carrying Chinese engineers from Islamabad to the Dasu hydroelectric project passed by.
