The Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, held a courtesy meeting with His Excellency Ambassador of Kingdom of Morocco in Pakistan, Mohammed Karmoune, at the Embassy of Morocco here on Friday. This meeting marked a crucial moment in the humanitarian relationship between Pakistan and Morocco.
The meeting provided a platform for both sides to discuss issues of mutual interest in humanitarian aid and disaster management. President Laghari emphasized the strong cooperation between the two countries in solving humanitarian problems.
During the discussion, Chief Laghari briefed about ongoing programs and projects of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, highlighting the organization’s commitment to serve vulnerable communities throughout the country. Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in the effective resolution of the humanitarian crisis, he expressed his gratitude for events organized by the HHR, such as the Morocco International Donor Conference.
Chief Laghari said HHR expects support from the Moroccan government, especially during the recovery period after the devastating 2022 monsoon floods. He also expressed his desire to develop cooperation with the Moroccan government and other humanitarian organizations in line with the mandate of the Moroccan Red Cross and Red Crescent, which aims to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable communities in Pakistan. President Laghari extended an invitation to Ambassador Mohammed Karmoun to visit HHR National Headquarters, which was well received.
Ambassador Mohammed Karmoune thanked Chief Laghari for his detailed information and insight into the flood disaster.
