PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur presided over the first meeting of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Department and was briefed on administrative matters, financial matters, Waqf property lease policy and other matters.
An important initiative of the Chief Minister was also to secure old copies of holy books besides establishing a Quran Mahal in the provincial capital Peshawar with a PDA to provide land for the construction of a Quran Mahal as per the order of the Chief Minister.
A decision was also taken old and these holy books in dilapidated condition will be collected from all over the province and will be preserved in the Quran Mahal. The Quran Mahal should be a beautiful model of Islamic architecture, the Chief Minister instructed.
Khyber Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also decided in the meeting to celebrate this year’s Rahmat-ul-alameen conference at an official level in a grand manner across the province. In the meeting, it was decided to make all arrangements to hold the Rahmat-ul-Alameen conference in the provincial capital Peshawar and also in all the divisional and district headquarters.
The Chief Minister has announced to provide Rs. 50 million for organizing the Rahmat-ul-Alameen Conference at the provincial level, Rs. 20 crore each for divisional level conferences and Rs. 10 crore for district level conferences.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to identify suitable land for Sirkai Cemetery in Peshawar city to fulfill the requirement of the cemetery. The Chief Minister’s decision to hold a Conference of Scholars and Religious Scholars at an official level was taken.
In the meeting, it was decided to set up an East Management Unit in the Awqaf Department for better management and maintenance of endowment properties. It was also decided to introduce GIS mapping of Awqaf properties across the province. In the meeting, it was decided to hire a law firm for better monitoring of cases pending in various courts related to Awqaf Department properties.
