ANNCHENG CITY: The Green Energy Port, China’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility, has been completed in Anchengcheng, east China’s Jiangsu Province.
Designed and built independently by China, this mega project is being built by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). In an interview with China Media Group, Deputy General Manager of CNOOC Gas Power Li Feng said that improving energy security in the Tanger River Delta region in eastern China is very important.
It is designed to produce 6 million tons of LNG per year, which is equivalent to 8.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
“At the same time, it supplies natural gas to provinces such as Jiangsu, Henan, Anhui and Shandong by tankers, maintaining energy security in the Tangese River Delta region,” Li said.
