BEIJING: Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony of China Development Forum 2024 in Beijing on Sunday and delivered a keynote speech.
The China Development Forum 2024 is scheduled for March 24 and 25. The theme of this year’s forum is “Continuous Development of China”.
The theme reflects the attention and expectation of all sectors on the long-term, stable and high-quality development of China’s economy, Li said.
Li also noted that China has successfully accomplished its 2023 major goals and tasks for economic and social development, and said that China’s economy has strong resilience, great potential and vitality, while the fundamentals of its long-term healthy growth remain unchanged.
The Chinese government has always regarded respect for the market and services for enterprises as an important focus in planning economic work, and has always been a supporter and good partner for enterprise development, the premier said.
Since last year, the Chinese government has further improved and optimized services and established a regular communication mechanism with businesses, he said.
China will take practical and effective measures to promote high-quality development and bring more confidence and positive energy to the recovery and stable development of the world economy, Li said.
The Prime Minister pledged efforts to intensify macro-policy adjustments, expand domestic demand, promote a new type of people-centered urbanization, and advance large-scale equipment renewal and replacement of durable goods.
China will continue to promote industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation, accelerate the development of new quality production forces and promote green transformation, while addressing both the symptoms and root causes of problems to prevent and mitigate risks and hidden dangers, he said.
Continuous efforts will be made to promote a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based and internationalized, continuously accelerate institutional opening and connect with the world at a higher level of openness, Li said.
China is ready to share with the world the great opportunities of China’s sustainable development and cooperate with all parties to create a bright future of common development, the premier added.
Around 400 people, including experts from home and abroad, businessmen, government officials and representatives of international organizations attended the opening ceremony of the forum, hosted by the Research and Development Center of the State Council.
