Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change and Environment Romina Khurshid Alam said that Pakistan will launch the GLOF III project to protect its glacial water resources. He held a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lt. General Inam Haider Malik HI (M) and an agreement was reached.
NDMA and the Ministry of Climate Change will jointly work on this project.
Both sides stressed that they will closely cooperate with heat waves, natural disasters and floods in the country. It also decided to formulate a joint strategy to save vulnerable wildlife species in future floods.

The Prime Minister’s Coordinator also agreed with the NDMA Chairman’s proposal to create a joint project bank for long-term sustainable development projects by NDMA and MoCC and avoid duplication of efforts.
