Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approved an action plan against drug abuse.
In a meeting chaired by the CM, the responsibilities of the concerned departments were defined and it was decided to form a special task force against narcotics.
It has been decided that the services of private institutions will also be taken to treat around 2,000 drug addicts. Drug use has been reported to increase in schools.
Confidential and mandatory screening of students will also be conducted and shared only with parents.
Action against drug traffickers was approved in the meeting.
The CM said that drug use has reached an alarming level, prompting the need for serious and coordinated action to curb it.
