LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday said that she does not believe in politics of foul language.
CM Maryam at the motorcycle handover ceremony in Lahore said, “This province needs to be developed. We will try to establish universities and colleges to lead Punjab and the whole country to prosperity.”
Highlighting the problems faced by the provincial capital of Punjab due to smog, CM Maryam said, “Lahore is facing problems due to smog.
“I would like to request the daughters to learn how to drive e-bikes so that they cannot do all the work alone,” added CM Maryam.
CM Maryam, who pledged to introduce the laptop scheme earlier, said, “We are going to increase student scholarships up to Rs 25 billion.”
She said e-bikes were also distributed to orphans.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has formally started the process of distributing e-bikes to students.
“I want Punjab to go towards e-transportation. The Punjab government will pay half of the down payment in the e-bike scheme,” Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said at a ceremony on Thursday.
She said the second phase will start soon.
“It is the government’s responsibility to provide education to the poor and students,” she said, adding that charging stations for e-bikes would also be set up.
The CM said her government is bringing more programs for the youth.
She encouraged students to ride their motorbikes slowly with helmets.
