Lahore: “Punjab government is committed to providing quality healthcare to the people,” Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said at the inauguration of Children’s Day Care Center at Children’s Hospital, Lahore. He directed the authorities concerned to construct a new ICU unit at the Children’s Hospital and ensure timely release of funds for the early expiry.
Madam Prime Minister said, “Every penny will be spent transparently to improve health facilities, confidence of the nation.” “We want to build the best hospital for the people in every district,” he said.
“The shortage of doctors in remote hospitals will be overcome,” said the female prime minister. He also reviewed the proposal to build a children’s hospital at the Divisional headquarters and link it with Children’s Hospital Lahore. He ordered the provincial ministers to visit the hospital every day.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also witnessed the signing of an MoU between Islamic Aid UK and the University of Child Health Sciences for the establishment of the college. Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, WC Dr. Masood Sadyk and Chairman of Islamic Aid Mahmudul Hasan signed the agreement. The Chief Minister thanked Islamic Aid for their cooperation and support.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the day care center and inspected the facilities there. He loved children and offered them flowers. Madam Chief Minister instructed the day care center staff to take care of the children. He also posed for photos with the staff.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the pediatric endocrinology ward and the neonatal ward where she interacted with the parents of the children being treated. She loves the child and prays for a speedy recovery. He inquired about the provision of free medical facilities and medicines from his parents and ordered MS to solve the problem immediately.
“I am very happy to meet you,” said the mother of the sick boy while talking to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister spoke to doctors and nurses and listened to their advice.
Earlier, the Chief Minister informed that educational and research facilities related to child health will be provided to medical students in the new college.
Provincial Chief Minister Marryum Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Buhari, Primary and Secondary Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, Special Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq, MPA Sania Ashiq and Dr Adnan Khan attended the meeting. The meeting was attended by Secretary of Health Ali Janan, Secretary of State for Information Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Vice Chancellor of University of Child Health Sciences Professor Dr. Masood Sadiq, Chairman of Islamic Aid London Mahmoud ul Hasan and other relevant officials.
