The GHQ investiture ceremony was held at Headquarters, Rawalpindi. General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) presented military awards to Army personnel for operational and public service.
Many senior officers and families of awardees attended ceremony. officers and soldiers were awarded medals like Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I-Basalat. The Shuhada medal was received by family members.
Paying tribute to Shuhada and Ghazis, COAS said that there is nothing more noble than sacrificing one’s life for the defense of the country and the sacrifice of our martyrs strengthens our resolve to fight with sincerity and spirit of sacrifice.
COAS Shuha also praised the brave family for their high spirit and sacrifice. The COAS said that Shuhada and Ghazis are our national heroes and the nation owes its freedom and security to the sacrifices of their brave fighters. Our martyrdom is truly a beacon of hope and perseverance for the nation.
