MARDAN: Everyone has a role in keeping Mardan clean, the city has no plan to remove waste from the bathroom and this waste will be added to the dirt that affects public health.
This opinion was expressed by the speaker, Dr. Israr Ahmed, in a seminar on sanitation practices in Mardan district.
IRSP Executive Director Shah Nasir, member of WASH network and NGO Mardan participated in collaboration with South Asia Freshwater Action (FANSA) Pakistan under the auspices of IRSP.
Sources stressed the need for better collaboration with the government, international donors and local NGOs to monitor the Mardan WASH sector.
“There is a need for more participatory monitoring, involving social workers, women, municipal representatives, minorities and students.”
He said plans should be drawn up and projects should be monitored together to provide washing facilities and create an efficient sanitation system at the city level. Emphasizing the need for joint planning, Dr. Israr Ahmad said that everyone should have a role to make Mardan clean.
Finally, a participant monitoring committee was formed to monitor the participants and certificates were awarded to the participants.
