ISLAMABAD: On January 18, a public lecture titled “Game Changing Technologies” will be presented by COMSTECH, the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
The talk will be given by Prof. Dr. Javaid Laghari, a former senator from Pakistan who currently serves as chair of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and holds the rank of federal minister.
Over the course of the last 35 years, he has held six important roles. He served as the Coordinator General of COMSTECH, the OIC’s consortium of 57 Islamic countries’ S&T ministers.
Along with being the director of the Space Power Institute at SUNY Buffalo and a tenured full professor of electrical and computer engineering, he also served as the founding president of SZABIST, a prestigious private institution.
Additionally, he was a Commissioner in the UAE’s Ministry of Education. At the moment, he serves as President of the Houston, Texas-based Forum for Dialogue and Diplomacy.
