Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday invited China’s Gezhouba Group to expand its operations in Pakistan in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Gezhouba Group is a subsidiary of Power China, a leading company in China that is developing several power generation projects in Pakistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the President regarding the tragic incident in Shangla where 5 Chinese nationals and 1 Pakistani national were martyred. He said Pakistan is determined to bring the perpetrators of this heinous attack to justice and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
Acknowledging Gezhouba Group’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic development, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Gezhouba Group should further expand its power generation capacity in the renewable and gas sectors, where it can play a major role.
The president thanked Pakistan for taking effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan and said that the company will complete all projects in Pakistan on time and expand cooperation to new areas.
